Our Story

Derrick and I met in a Biology class at Louisiana Tech University in the Spring Quarter of 1999. As Derrick likes to say, "We met in Biology but it was Chemistry." After dating for two and a half years, we were married April 5, 2003 just after we both graduated from Tech. We've been married four years now - no kids yet but we do have a very cute dog named Sadie!

During college Derrick and I were both very involved in the Chi Alpha group at Tech. At different points we led worship, planned events, and led cell groups (on campus, student-led, community-based Bible study groups). Those were some of the most amazing years of our lives - learning about God, how to serve Him, and falling more and more in love with Him! God put in us both a deep desire to see Him do in the coming generations of students what He did in us in college: God has called us to be Chi Alpha campus missionaries!

In 2004 we entered a year-long internship program under Eli Gautreaux, veteran campus missionary at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. God continued to confirm our calling during that year and, when offered a staff position with Nick and Becky Callaway at LSU, we followed God to Baton Rouge. We served there for 2.5 years and, when Nick and Becky accepted a position to direct the group at their alma mater in Oklahoma, we stayed on to manage the ministry in their absence. Now, God is directing us back to Sam Houston State University to once again work with Eli and Mary and we are so excited!
